MOTION ALPHA DANCE COMPANY

Motion Alpha Dance Company was established in 2015 and is an all-male youth dance company and an associate of Canterbury Christ Church University and part of Dance@canterbury. The aim of Motion Alpha is to provide:

“All male creative dance classes that use movement to physical confidence, co-ordination, movement vocabulary, and sequences, through imagination and creativity. The company seeks to engage young people and their families in dance from Canterbury and the surrounding areas, both through participation and as spectators.”

The company classes are taught by two male dancers James Middleton and Brett Thomas who are both graduates from Canterbury Christ Church University. Over the past 4 years, the company has run regular classes, workshops, and summer schools in the university’s purpose-built performance space ‘Anselm studios’.
